Handling & Care Instructions for Shasta View Wheatgrass

Wheatgrass requires very little maintenance, however here are some things that may be necessary to keep this product fresh.
  • Watering - When picking up a cup and it feels light and airy or the grass looks dull this is an indication it needs water.  Water approximately a cup every other day and let the water DRAIN COMPLETELY, wheatgrass does not like wet feet.
  • Refrigerate - Wheatgrass is best when young and short, the best ways to extend the life of your grass is to place it in the refrigerator. This will slow its expiration process, which refers to it loosing a multitude of nutrients, flavor and vibrant green color.
  • Sunlight and heat are two variables that will rapidly increase rate of growth and shorten the plants life.
One question that is often asked is; Can Wheatgrass be cut and regrown a second time or be transplanted? The easiest answer is NO. The cups become root bound and the the first growth actually consumes the majority of nutrients available to the plant, thus there is not enough nutrients left in the container and seed for it to grow healthy again.
